Creating a poll was very easy. It would be hard for first graders to write posts on a blog, but they could do a quick poll. I could see doing polls with parents also, but the google version might be better for collecting parent views.
I think polling parents and families about best times for office hours would be interesting. We would have real data to help set up our office hours and maybe we'd have a better turnout. I like to teach reading with math as a close second!
I agree with Therese. I'm wondering if the ELL parents would all respond, since language is difficult for some. This certainly opens up some possibilities.
